Weather Policy
We would love to offer perfect weather for family fun picking, and we simply cannot guarantee that!
Rainchecks
With that in mind, if the weather simply doesn’t allow tolerable and safe harvesting, then we will make a “raincheck” call.
For those who reserved a spot and are unable to pick, we will offer the first opportunity to choose another harvest day.
If a picker is unable to choose another day (or it is at the end of the harvest season), then your reservation fee will be refunded.
We understand some may be traveling for some time, and we will try to make as timely a weather call as possible.
For the sake of making picking enjoyable, if there is doubt if you should make the trip to the farm, please call (719-210-1769 - Al’s personal cell), and we can discuss what the best option may be for your family.
Unfriendly (and unsafe) Picking Weather
If the weather turns to be nasty and unsafe while harvesting, we will ask pickers to leave the field and return to their autos.
We have a rule for all to leave the fields when lightning is detected within 5 miles of the farm.
We understand “unfriendly” weather is a matter of definition, and some may not mind solid rain when others may avoid a sprinkle.
We hope all have as much fun as possible - even if it rains a bit!
